Stratus Environmental, Inc. (Stratus) has been providing annual groundwater monitoring reporting to the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation (CDCR) since 2015. Reporting was required to document groundwater monitoring activities performed by CDCR staff in the vicinity of a wastewater treatment plant located at the California Correctional Center in Susanville, California.

Wastewater treatment is performed onsite and then transferred to holding and aeration ponds. The treated wastewater is subsequently chlorinated and then recycled by application for fodder crops. A network of monitoring wells is in place in order to allow for monitoring and sampling of groundwater, which is part of the wastewater discharge requirement for the property.

Stratus’ annual groundwater monitoring report includes discussions on interpreted groundwater flow, an evaluation of analytical results, quarterly groundwater elevation contour maps, and constituent trend graphs.
