Background Groundwater Quality Study and Degradation Assessment Report
Wastewater Reclamation Plant, Rancho Murieta, California
Rancho Murieta Community Services District (RMCSD), owns and operates a WWRP that serves the community of Rancho Murieta, California – approximately 5,000 people. The facility treats and disinfects wastewater which is then reclaimed to irrigate 250 acres of golf course property. Stratus personnel were contracted by RMCSD to comply with the monitoring and reporting requirements set forth in the Waste Discharge Requirements and Monitoring & Reporting Program issued for the site. Stratus personnel installed 3 additional groundwater monitoring wells, completed a Background Groundwater Quality Study and Degradation Assessment Report for RMCSD in accordance with CCR Title 27 to compare groundwater potentially impacted from the reclamation plant operations to background groundwater quality (it was concluded from the report that the reclamation plant was not impacting groundwater quality), and performed groundwater monitoring and reporting at the WWRP from 2007 until 2014. At the end of 2014, Stratus personnel worked with RMCSD staff and the RWQCB to eliminate groundwater monitoring and reporting under the Monitoring and Reporting Program.
